on art and the times!!!

the process of art for me is very fast, in the moment. i think my process reflects the society in which i live in: fast cars, fast computers, fast conversations, fast days and nights, fast music, fast food, fast coffee shops, et cetera. in the days of the romantic period of art (pre-industrialization) everything was much slower. scientists believed that the fastest one could travel was 27 mph!!! it was the belief that the traveler would faint if they went any faster than that. the steam engine proved those scientists wrong. art was slower. think about long it would take to sculpt marble or paint a fresco or an oil painting even. now we can go real fast and be okay. art, my art specifically, reflects this. i don't have the patience to wait for paint (even spray-paint) to dry. i use found objects, mostly. the found objects (i.e. for my upcoming exhibition - ribbon and an assortment of things) i use are pre-manufactured and in a factory setting they are produced very quickly. is it a bad thing to make fast art? is it a flaw to have little patience? will my lack of patience affect my life negatively or positively?
